- Q: Why should I enroll my child in Drama Kids?
- No other program offers the lasting benefits of Drama Kids, serving ages 3 – 18. You owe it to your child to give him/her the skills he/she will need to be successful. In today's competitive marketplace, it is often the person who is best able to express his/her ideas and present a confident self-image that is most successful. These are exactly the types of skills that Drama Kids seeks to build in your child. Classes are only 1 hour per week, and offered in several different days and locations each week, making it easy to schedule after school or each Saturday.
- Q: How is Drama Kids different than other drama schoolprograms?
- With over 25 years of experience and 45,000 children enrolled worldwide, Drama Kids is not your average drama program. We offer convenient locations and highly qualified teachers who will develop your child's ability to its fullest potential. Other drama programs are focused on putting on high-budget productions where a few children get most of the speaking parts. At Drama Kids, we like to say that every child is a star. Each week we do a different play in class challenging your child with new roles and new situations. Students learn to work together as a team without the awkward competition for roles that sometimes develops in other drama programs. Most importantly, at Drama Kids we focus on building the skills that your child will need to be a happy, successful, outgoing participant in life. Over the years, our curriculum and techniques have been proven to be effective in building these skills in children.
- Q: When and where are your classes offered?
- Our program runs continuously throughout the school year except for major holidays and week long school breaks. We offer classes at a variety of convenient locations. Classes are one-hour in length and meet weekly. Please visit the Locations page and find the location nearest you to see class listings for your child.
- Q: Are students grouped by age?
- Yes. Our classes are structured so that children can enroll in Kindergarten and continue through 12th grade without ever repeating a lesson. Please see Our Programs for relevant information on our age groupings. The classes become progressively challenging so that each child feels challenged regardless of age.
- Q: Who teaches your classes?
- Our highly-qualified teachers are what make each class truly special. All of our teachers have college level training in drama/education or equivalent experience. They are certified as Drama Kids Instructors only after completing Instructor Training on the techniques we use in our drama school programs as well as hands on classroom participation.
- Q: What is your class size?
- Class sizes are limited to 20 students. This allows our teachers to give each student the individual praise and recognition they need to build confidence and achieve their personal best.
- Q: Will I get to see my child perform?
- Yes! You'll see your Drama Kid perform twice per year. We have a mid-year performance (late Jan/early Feb) and an exciting year-end production (early-mid June). There are no auditions and all children are on stage for the entire performance. And you can invite your family and friends to attend at no charge! Our productions are based on original material developed by Drama Kids International and are designed to give every student a rewarding performance experience. In addition, it is common for classes to hold short impromptu parent demonstrations on occasion to show a bit of what they rehearsed that day which also helps them build confidence in performance.
- Q: Can my child observe a class?
- At Drama Kids, we have found that it is much more intimidating for children to observe a class than it is to participate. Our teachers are highly skilled at capturing the interest and imagination of even the most apprehensive child.
- Q: Are parents allowed to watch the class?
- Having parents observe the class distracts the students and may prevent them from becoming completely engaged in the class. For this reason, we ask that parents not plan to stay for the class. You will have the opportunity to see your child display the skills he or she has learned at our mid-year and year-end performances. In addition, parents may occasionally be invited into the classroom to see an informal presentation of a portion of the week's lesson at the teacher's discretion.
- Q: Are your classes appropriate for my shy child?
- Our classes are designed to help your child develop the self-confidence and verbal communication skills he/she needs to be a happy, outgoing, articulate individual. We create a safe, supportive environment in which soft-spoken children have the opportunity to practice these skills without the fear of being ridiculed. Many parents have told us that they have seen a noticeable improvement in their child's confidence within a few weeks of joining Drama Kids.
- Q: Are your classes appropriate for my outgoing child?
- Yes! We have many children in our program who are naturally outspoken and dramatic. They enjoy Drama Kids because it gives them an outlet for their natural creative ability. They also develop the skill, focus and ability to take direction that is sometimes lacking in the gregarious child. We have heard many stories from parents whose children have landed lead roles in school and church plays because of the skills that they have learned in Drama Kids.
- Q: What happens if my child doesn't like the class?
- We very rarely encounter a situation where a child does not enjoy our classes. In that rare case, a conference between the parent and teacher will be convened to determine the source of the child's concerns. Almost every case can be resolved within a few short weeks of tailored instruction.
- Q: How much does your program cost?
- Tuition varies by location and is prorated so enrollment can occur anytime. Also, sibling discounts are provided for families enrolling more than one child. Tuition includes all props, costumes and materials required for our program. There are no hidden fees!
- Q: How do I register my child?

Adam, our youngest, tends to be the very shy type, even when around
people he has known for a long time. However, more recently,
he has "bloomed" in his personality and his confidence.
When I saw Adam give his first performance with his group, I
knew that Drama Kids was what he needed...
